Ripperology

While trying to do some research for our presentation i came across a few things that i thought might be interesting to add into out presentation. It seems that on one of Jacks victims (kate eddows) which was the 4th victim. half of her kidney was found with a letter wrapped around it, the letter was written to the leader of a citizens group. It was a coroner who confirmed that it was Kates kidney, anyway on this web site where i found this information there was an handwriting analysis and it confirmed that the handwritting on the letter was written by a disorganised lust murderer which would definitely seem to best describe Jack The Ripper.....!

It also has another picture of a different letter sighned 'Jack The Ripper', the handwritting on this letter is different to the first and was also analysed confirming that the person who wrote this letter was a rational, educated and organised person whose actions were well thought out and planned. Just as Mark said in our first lecture the letter signed 'Jack The Ripper' was more than likely a media stunt and i think that the handwritng analysis has hit that nail on it's head. The rational description might well have been a description of a journalist/reporter!

I also found out that there is a 'Whitechapel Society' this is a group formed around the basis of the murders and although they do seem somewhat interested in the murders themselves it seems like more of a gimic or something along those lines. I think this goes along with the idea that the murders arent taken seriously anymore its more of a fashion. He is a celebrity and just like all celebrities people idolise and want to know more about him even if all that they know is not 'FACT'.
